Why should I use a bio-hazard clean-up company?

Federal regulation 29CFR1910.1030 of OSHA states that NO employee can be placed in a position to be exposed to bio-hazardous waste without first:
i. Receiving blood-borne pathogen (BBP) training.

ii. Having a written BBP exposure control plan.

iii. Having been provided with personal protective equipment (PPE).

iv. Having been offered the Hepatitis B vaccine and exposure evaluation with a follow up.

v. Being provided with a method to remove and properly store the biohazard waste in properly marked containers for disposal at an approved site.
We live in a very litigious society and no one wants a lawsuit.

Who pays for these services?

In some cases your home, business or auto insurance will cover our services, unless the policy specifically excludes it. Ultimately the property owner is responsible for the cost of our services. In the event an individual cannot afford our services we are more then willing to work with the State of Texas Crime Victims Compensation Program. http://www.oag.state.tx.us/victims/cvc.shtml

I have a mattress with blood or Body fluids on it, can you come pick it up?

Yes and no. We must remove the contaminated portions of the mattress and place those portions into an approved and labeled Biohazard waste container. We must first disinfect the area wear PPE while we perform this task. We will still remove the the rest of the mattress as a conventional waste. We do this waste segregation to insure we do not leak or spill Biohazards into our vehicles or any public area. This is the law and we follow it. Any Crime or trauma cleaning company that is willing to just come pick it up "as is" is violating this law and is not properly transporting the medical waste. We understand that this may be an inconvenience in some cases but we are not willing to violate laws for convenience. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
