Biohazard Cleanup

​Vehicle decontamination services are offered to remove blood in cars, trucks, boats, airplanes (Theft, Crime, Trauma, Unexpected Death).  When a stolen vehicle is recovered, there are steps that need to be taken in order for the vehicle to be deemed a safe environment.

The interior of the vehicle and may harbor dangerous surprises after a theft such as:​

• Used syringes

• Narcotics

• Bio-hazardous Infectious Materials, such as bodily fluids (blood, urine, feces, etc.)

 

Any of the above makes the interior of a vehicle a bio-hazardous infectious environment and the decontamination procedure after a theft, violent crime, suicide, death, auto accident air bag deployment often requires the removal of many parts of the interior.

 

This might include door panels, dash boards, seats, carpet, seat belts, vents and quite often internal electrical components ( radio, etc. ) as they all can become contaminated with bodily fluids.

 

For example, if blood has been lost, more often than not it has traveled into the vehicles HVAC system. Unfortunately, once the blood dries, the next time the vehicle is turned on the air system it will blow out dry flakes of blood.

 

Any of these dry flakes of blood could land on an occupants' mucous membranes, (eyes, nose, mouth) and cause an exposure incident.  Hepatitis B is stable in dry blood even after it is exposed to the air.

 

Only trained technicians, such as our staff, should even attempt to decontaminate the interior of a vehicle. In the event of a minor biological issue, we have a mobile unit to respond to your home, collision center, bodyshop, or wherever the vehicle is being stored to respond to an airbag deployment in a car, truck or SUV.
